EAS 102 - Intro to Equine Assisted Services II (3)In this course, students will explore the three branches of EAS: Therapies, Activities, and Education. Students will get a comprehensive introduction to each service and related best practices. Students will also learn about EAS program structure and management that are unique to each service field. Students will explore aspects related to program management, equine management, business management, and those aspects unique to each service branch, such as healthcare laws and volunteer coordination. Students will learn to apply critical thinking skills when exploring current issues of the field, such as animal welfare and ethical considerations in regards to each service field, so that students can develop a realistic understanding and appreciation for the current status of the field of EAS. Students will have hands-on learning opportunities while volunteering with local EAS programs.
