VOC 104 - Voice for Theatre and Worship (2)Vocal fundamentals for those students with an interest in learning how to use the singing voice in non-classical genres. Primary topics would include (1) healthy singing and speaking for drama/musical theatre, (2) singing with the use of a microphone, (3) healthy singing in contemporary styles (Broadway, Pop, and other contemporary styles), (4) understanding of appropriate styles for various venues and how they compare, (5) basic concepts of breath, phonation, resonance, articulation, and communication. Either this class, VOC 100, or an audition is required for all students who wish to enter the collegiate voice lesson program.
