Program Mission Statement

Asbury University department of nursing is committed to academic excellence and spiritual vitality.  It is our mission to prepare nursing graduates who are called to the nursing profession, committed to lifelong learning, leadership and service to others, by modeling the caring ministry of Christ around the world.

Program Philosophy

Consistent with the core values of Asbury, a Christian Liberal Arts University steeped in the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition, Nursing faculty and staff foster growth of the mind, body, and spirit by providing meaningful learning experiences in various settings with opportunities to care for individuals across the lifespan.  In doing so, we are preparing competent nurses capable of providing compassionate patient care, engage their culture, and advance the cause of Christ around the world through a caring ministry of professional nursing. 

Program Goals

Our goal is to deliver a quality nursing education program that prepares graduates for licensure and a successful transition to practice.

[This program is pending approval from SEVIS and therefore not currently available to international students.]

The baccalaureate degree program in nursing at Asbury University is pursuing initial accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (http://www.ccneacreditation.org).  Applying for accreditation does not guarantee that accreditation will be granted.

Required Foundations Communication Course: COM130
Required Foundations Social Science Course: PSY101
Required Foundations Mathematics Course: MAT125

(4 hours Science met by required major courses; Foreign Language not required of Nursing majors.)
