PSY 111 - Psychology & Professional Life (3)

A basic course with special emphasis on the history of psychology, sensation and perception, motivation, emotion, personality and learning. Another principle objective is to expose students to various psychology-related careers by bringing in various professionals who studied psychology as an undergraduate. Careers highlighted will include professions such as counseling, psychotherapy, psychological assessment, social and human services, residential care, forensic applications and settings, teaching, research, industrial/organizational, psychiatry, church/para-church and missions. This course is intended to be taken during the freshman or sophomore year.
