SWA 340 - Practicum I (5)The student is placed for a minimum of 200 hours for the semester in an agency providing social services. Requires a two-hour weekly seminar and individual, regular meetings with both field and academic instructors. The practicum and practice seminar provide additional opportunity for the student to integrate classroom knowledge with practical experience. The practicum is designed to give the student experience in working with individuals and/or groups in an agency setting. Assigned readings, process recording, and other tools are used to enhance the field practicum experience. Must be taken either fall or spring semester.
