EQ 340 - Equine Law (3)

This course covers the broad spectrum of legal situations and laws that govern the equine industry. It will provide students with a basic understanding of methods of settling disputes, relevant tort law, business structures, record keeping, contracts, liens, tax liabilities, and estate planning. The course will also cover the equine professional’s rights and responsibilities, relevant legal definitions and terms, how to recognize when to use legal counsel, and how to avoid liability and prevent situations that could result in costly litigation.
