PS 101 - American Politics & Government (3)Designed to enable students to understand American political dynamics in an era of gridlock and red state/blue state tensions, this course begins with the Founders’ arguments about the nature of the regime they designed in 1787. Following an examination of the structure and politics of the legislative, executive, and judicial branches of government, the course covers critical topics in current American politics, such as interest group behavior, political parties, the federal budget, the media, shifting national demographics, and political culture and ideologies.
