ENG 300 - Writing for the Marketplace (3)

This course is designed to take writing into the real world, introducing students to a variety of exciting career pathways for professional writers. Through writing, editing, and speaking assignments, students will learn and practice the fundamentals of written and spoken communication used in the non-profit sector, marketing, publishing, academic support, and beyond. Students will hear from professional writers and will produce a portfolio of pieces designed for 3-4 specific career pathways. This course will focus on writing skills that students can build upon in future internships or other work opportunities.
