CHE 106 - Science of Light & Media (4)This course presents the science behind the magic of media. It is a scientific survey of understanding in light and matter as it pertains to electronics used in the past and current film media. It specifically investigates the science behind video electronics, film and special effects. Emphasis is placed on the chemical and physical attributes of media to assist in the fundamental understanding of how each area works. This course presents a survey of current knowledge and theories in media. The concept behind this course is to dispel the sense of a “black box”. Students interested in film and video will not only comprehend current theories, but understand how technology historically drove these changes, while recognizing future directions. CHE 106/106L satisfies Foundations requirement for science.
