HIS 102 - Western Civilization II (3)A continuation of the study of western civilization that begins in the seventeenth century and concludes with the contemporary era. The course will describe the settling of religious differences in Europe, the Age of the Enlightenment, the emergence of nation-states, and the growth of nationalism and western imperialism in the opening centuries of the modern age. The course concludes by exploring the twentieth century and the impact of totalitarian ideologies, world wars, and the emergence of minority and Third World issues.
